HIV/AIDS among population aged 15-49 has remarkably declined from 2.8% in 2002 to 1.9% in 2004. However the prevalence rate is still very high.
INTHANOU Association has been set up in July 2000 to be the first AIDS hotline counseling in Cambodia. To date, INTHANOU is functioning for five years to provide accurate information on HIV/AIDS to users and guide them to appropriate health facilities in accord to their need.
INTHANOU is operating three lines, two lines are the usual free line 012 999 008 and 012 999 009 (Free for CellCard Users) and a special paid line 092 914 111 (Cost 0.03$/minute). The three lines are available nine hours a day from 11am to 8pm from Monday to Saturday.
In the first three years, we received in average 100 calls. Now the average calls increase to 200 calls on daily basis. Every call to hotline is anonymous and confidential. Caller can talk directly with our skilled and experienced counselor through telephone.
